![]() ![]() However stealth can be a huge benefit as it lets you skip some trash mobs and take on things you normally wouldn't be able to do without a group. Also makes the first bit of the game easier as there is a lot of down time with Shadow until you get your healer companion which isn't until after Taris. If you want to feel all flashy throwing rocks and force powers around, Sage is the way to go. Shadow was my first 55 and you are much more melee oriented than a force user. Also, for force powers, shadow has moar than the sentinel.Īlso: I don't know if you care but I've always found the melee animations of the shadow to be kinda lacklustre. But the strategic value of stealth, choosing your setup and planning the fight in advance is a great, great asset. It boils down to preferred playstyle - sneaky or head on. I recently leveled one in wzs and was amazed actually. Like people have pointed out: Sentinels have great damage and also really nice defensive cooldowns. But if you play in a premade there is a risk you'll be forced to tank-mode node guarding (But if you want to take on four players, your best bet is to go up against r***rds and then your class wont matter anyway). What kind of pvp do you want to do? Shadow is a great choice for pug lone wolfing. But different factors have to be weighed in as well. I you want to go up against uneven odds in pvp, shadow is most likely the better choice: Stealth, combat stealth, mezz. The agile, acrobatic darth-maulesque potential of the DBLS has yet to be realized in SWTOR. For example how project is tied with double strike for the particel acceleration buff or clairvoyant strikes connection to project. The best way to describe the class would be as a force-melee hybrid. Many aspects of kinetic, infil and balance mechanics are actually a blend between force powers and melee. One thing that kept me off my shadow for a while was the fact that the melee-aspect of the class felt lacking. You lose stealth (and the possibility of becoming a tank) but you gain awesome ranged DPS and the ability to heal yourself, your companion and others. ![]() You will be fighting at range (up to 30m) and your lightsaber will be something you hold at your side to cast a pretty glow on your clothes. It is cool and has great gameplay, but you don't get to use Force powers that much.Īs a Sage, on the other hand, you will be using Force powers all the time. You don't really get to play around with Force powers as you will normally be whacking stuff with your double-lightsaber. If you want "awesome force powers" I would suggest looking into the Sage and not the Shadow. Your four Sith Warriors? Sorcerers? BH? what? It depends really and if you mean vs those 4 solo. KBN's guide under the Sentinel subforum can give you a more specific number crunching for the Sentinels (as well as being an awesome guide). The Kinetic Sentinel is supposed to be very survivable, from what I've seen others say here, but I can't say personally though. I play a Jedi Sentinel (Combat) and she couldn't lift a leaf with the Force, but her dmg is insane since all her abilities are focused on destroying whoever she's facing. Hands down, the Jedi Sentinel does the higher DPS over the Shadow, but he has virtually zero Force Powers compared to the Shadow. But the sentinel also looks awesome because im a fan of the dual wielding but im not sure if it has force powers as the shadow does? Im confused anyway my question in short is Who does more dmg and is more well rounded who can handle their own better in any situation given as in who would survive an encounter vs 4 SITHS. Ok so im new to this game and i cant decide what to play The Jedi Shadow seems cool because of stealth and awesome force powers which i think all jedi should have. ![]()
